Another week has passed… 6 more weeks before our IPP end… and that means 6 more weeks in Shanghai. =( …But I'm missing Singapore's food man… the food is really salty and oily here. haha. Ohh yea… we've been traveling around Shanghai by MRT… so we're pretty familiar with some of the stations in Line 1 and 2 already. The trains are most of the time packed… and I mean reallyyy packed. They have MRT officers to 'pack' passengers into the train during peak hours. The locals squeeze, push and rush their way in despite how 'full' the train is and you can see frustrated faces from tourists like us and even some of the locals. Ha. There was once when I had to push my way out and almost left one of my heels in the train. Goodness.

Wells… Have been a good girl last week, went home after work everyday except more shopping on Wednesday and splurging on good food during the weekends. Heh!

Wednesday – Women's Day! On half day leave. So, we went to 襄阳市场(Xiang Yang Market) for more shopping…which mean more 'branded' bags, wallets and shoes! Wee...!

Friday – Went home to put our laptops and discussed where to go. Haha. Finally, decided to head out to 静安寺(Jing An Si) for our favourite dessert house, 满记甜品(Man Ji Tian Ping). I had my almond and sesame paste, Jen had her walnut and sesame paste and we also had our favourite mango pancake! We deserve some splurge after a week of boring work. =P They serve really special desserts! If not for the crowd, we'd have stayed longer. The ambience is just perfect. Hee… When we left, most of the shops have already closed. We didn't wanna go home early, so decided to go K where we finally got home around 1am. Yea… It's dangerous for 2 girls to go home alone at such a time in a foreign land. Oh wells. It's a Friday night… haha.

Saturday –Wet day... was pretty annoying cos we don't have umbrellas. Went to 上海体育馆(Shanghai Sports Stadium) to check out the sight-seeing tour buses so that we can plan for more day-trips during the weekends. Heh. Our mood was pretty much affected by the rain until we managed to fill our empty stomachs at IKEA. Yep… Swedish meatballs, Baked Salmon, Tiramisu… Splurging on food again… Wee~!

Sunday – Checked out 七浦路(Qi Pu Road). Man… there are reallyyy lotsa clothes but I went home empty-handed. Can't help but to try the food from the roadside stalls. They are just too tempting. =P

Well... That's about it for my week. I'll upload the pics soon! Check 'em out!

Happy 21st Birthday Baby! Miss ya. =)

My... How time flies... It's the third week already. If you were to ask me, 'Yea... i like it here'...other than their high cost of living and my stiff bed. Ha. Yea... the cost of living is high here... as in if you do a fair comparison. the food is expensive. the stuffs are too, only if you know where to get cheap ones... i wouldn't mind staying here for long though...Mmm...

Well, the good news is that the weather has been getting better in the past 2 days! the change of season from winter to spring. My feet have collected more blisters than ever… from wearing shoes. Sport shoes in fact. Goodness. And if we were to walk on the streets with our slip-ons, we get never-ending glares and questions like 'Wah…not cold mehz?' blabbering behind us for our entire outing…Yea…we tried it. we felt like aliens for a day…

Anyways… Here's my second week in ShangHai…

Monday – Stayed back in the office… to blog and chat. Haha.

Tuesday – Went home straight after dinner. Hee…=)

Wednesday – Walked around our estate...Searching for food and boots... but went back empty-handed.

Thursday – Took a train to People's Place to check out The Bund... It was a really pretty sight especially the lightings at 南京步行街 (Nan Jing Bu Xing Jie) and the view across The Bund... awesome. But it was just too cold for me to stay on... so i bugged Jen to leave. and I got myself a Minnie Mouse handbag. Hee!

Friday – Supposed to go to my colleagues hometown,七宝(Qi Bao) for their famous羊肉. However, I was caught up in the office for some 'urgent' work to do for my supervisor. She gave me 3 assignments at 430 (I knock off at 5pm) and tell me she needs it by that day. Well, ok... I can get it done for her... but she had to talk on the phone for 20-30mins when I have something to ask in order for me to complete the work. And because I didn't wanna keep Jen and my colleagues waiting, I told them to go ahead. Pissed. Since I'll be going home alone, I stayed back to use the internet access. So, I msn and uploaded some pics.
Then, my supervisor asked me if I've had my dinner... which was obviously no. So, she suggested grabbing some food together. We had 酸菜鱼火锅...woot~ superb!

Saturday – Had planned to make a trip to 襄阳市场(Xiang Yang Market) but ended up shopping at our estate cos we went to had our lunch at 苏州小笼包, a popular restaurant here. I didn't expect to get so many stuffs there (not really for myself though) ... it's quite a good place to shop actually.

Sunday – Ordered 外卖 again. 5RMB for a big bowl of noodles which we couldn't even finish... heh. Then, went to 襄阳市场(Xiang Yang Market) where I spent on others again.. Seriously, my funds are soon going into a plunge. lost money. spend money on gifts and daily necessities. i need my pay! =( And i reallyyy need to start shopping for myself...! I wonder why am i not doing that... how annoying. sponsors anyone?

As for work, I'm getting kinda bored with translation but that's my major project. Goodness. My supervisor has serious mood swing... When she's nice, she's really nice... when she's not, she's really nasty. Anyways, it's just 'Welcome to the world of office politics!'... Luckily for me, i have nice colleagues and my other 'supervisor' has been nice enough to share their HR practices and entrusting me with real work like job offer, holiday notice etc. Networking in the past weeks have been great too. i love meeting new people. i've met many VIPs of the firm and fellow singaporeans who are big shots here. =) Yea... and wed is 三八妇女节 (San Ba Fu Nu Jie), so all female colleagues are given half day leave. Wee~!

Alright...I'll update soon yea. Stay tuned! Tata. =)
